It is essentially Yaesu’s proprietary digital mode, used in the Yaesu Fusion digital voice mode.

Interesting fact: once the signal is digitized into a stream, the format is identical to Digital Mobile Radio streams, and at that level they are compatible.  But the signal analog to digital encoding is handled very differently, and therefore the two formats are not directly compatible.
