Glynn VK6PAW sends in this information about a series of lectures about D-Star:

D-STAR, although a slightly older digital mode, still attracts a fair bit of interest due to the number of Icom radios out there that have the capability.

For a number of years at the Dayton Hamvention. Icom America had John Davis (WB4QDX) presented a series of lectures.

All you need to do is go to YouTube and search for "d-star infocon", or click one of these links to get started with the 2016 lecture series.
